They have been farming the precious tobacco plant around here for as long as people remember. Even though the family had its own share of problems during the notorious dictatorship regime of Rafael Trujillo, after his demise they came back to reclaim their coveted position among the country’s best known tobacco growers Jose’ (or Jochi) Blanco is the family torch-bearer and is responsible for the creation of the Cibao cigar among other brands which are made in his Dominican factory like the Franco and the Palma Real.
