Room 101 Big Payback Nicaragua
In 2016, Matt Booth of Room101 Cigars decided it was high time he pay tribute to the army of loyal Room101 supporters over the years. This arrived in the form of a cigar duo known as The Big Payback, offering two wrapper varieties that focused on: a) big flavor output; b) large ring gauges; c) affordable price points.
In the years following, Room101 exited the cigar industry and—much to the relief of cigar hobbyists—returned, refocused and better than ever! Slowly but surely, the brand’s most beloved cigars have begun crawling their way back into humidors. In 2019, The Big Payback Maduro made its big comeback, being followed not long after by The Big Payback Connecticut cigar.
With its modern incarnation, Room101 The Big Payback Connecticut is no longer crafted in Honduras, moving production to the famed Joya de Nicaragua factory in—you guessed it—Nicaragua. The blend consists of the cigar’s signature Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, replacing the interior recipe with all-Nicaraguan tobaccos. Of course, the high flavor/cost ratio remains, offering bright and approachable characteristics of clean cedar, buttered toast, white pepper, and vanilla cream through the finish.
