Description
NAME: JUAN LOPEZ DISTINGUIDOS ER ALEMANIA JAR 2011 (2012 release) n-25
PRESENTATION:
One-half of the Juan Lopez Distinguidos Edición Regional Alemania 2011 was offered in the classic cabinet boxes (SLB) and was sold out within a short time. The other half is available in 600 individually numbered porcelain jars with 25 pieces at 162mm X 52. They were made by Arzberg Porzellan in Upper Franconia. That is why they also have the words “Made in Germany” on the floor. The company, founded in 1887, is considered a quality brand for porcelain worldwide and has won various international design awards. Even the renowned Museum of Modern Art in New York honors its products in its exhibition.
The Juan Lopez Distinguidos come from the “La Corona” cigar factory, which is now the largest of its kind in Havana. Only 30,000 of these cigars were made. The strong and substantial tobacco blend typical of Juan Lopez was composed by an old friend for this format: the top torcedor Saul de los Rios, who was our guest in Leipzig in 2007 as a torcedor.
Even the cold smell is bursting with ethereal power. Even after the ignition, no fine imagination, everything brutal and mouth-filling. The full range of wood notes, paired from the beginning with a slightly nutty spiciness and here and there elegant bitterness awaits the – hopefully experienced – connoisseur. Power and concentration are immediately noticeable and only vary depending on the format. As with all large-format Lopez, the sweetness remains rather restrained. Saul de los Rios actually dug deep into the strong tobacco to create his blend. The result is classic, Cuban, strong. There is no question that these impressive cigars require medium to long-term maturation. When properly matured, the aficionado will expect it in four to five years with maximum fullness, without losing its fresh bite.
Regional edition of 600 jars for Germany.
